Shree Durga Mandir Matsari, Rautahat
Shree Durga Mandir Matsari was established more than a century.A teacher of Sanskrit School Matsari named 'Pandit Mahanand Jha' who was from Debdiha Village of Dhanusha district was a great worshipper of Shakti( Mata Durga). He always used to be involved in all kinds of Mata Durga Worshiping festivals. The people of Matsari Village was also highly involved in spritually & devotion towards Mata Durga, and that's why Pandit Mahanad Jha used to suggest everyone that there should be a temple of Mata Durga in this village.
In Matsari , the arrangements for the Sanskrit School teacher Pandit’s food and lodging were made by Pandit Sarvajeet Jha.Pandit Sarvajeet Jha was 'Seth Ji'(Ruler) of Matsari Village during Rana Reign .Pandit Mahanand Jha always encouraged Pandit Sarvajeet Jha to inaugurate the Durga worship festival in Matsari. Pandit Sarvajeet Bhale himself was also a devotee of Shakti; he personally used to take part every year in the Durga worship festival ceremonies in Andhara Thadi of Madhubani district (in the village of his daughter’s son-in-law).And this was also encouraging him to establish a temple & start worshipping Shakti in his village. Considering Pandit Mahananda Jha’s persistent requests, his personal interest, and the needs in the village during times such as epidemics and fire disasters, Pandit Sarvajeet Jha organized a social meeting in B.S. 1984 to inaugurate the Durga worship festival. In that meeting it was decided by the then-listed families of Matsari to commence the Durga worship festival in Matsari.
