In Matsari, the food and lodging arrangements for Pandit Mahanand Jha were managed by Pandit Sarvajeet Jha, who served as the Seth Ji (village chief) of Matsari during Nepal's Rana rule period. Pandit Mahanand Jha frequently requested him to initiate Durga worship in the village.
Pandit Sarvajeet Jha was himself a devoted follower of Shakti, and he annually participated in Durga worship ceremonies in Andhara Thadi of Madhubani district, at his daughter's son-in-law's village.
